Advocacy

“Our Lives begin and end the day we become silent about things that matter.”

-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

#YourIndustryYourVoice is more than a hashtag: the FAMP has a proud history of advocating for the Mortgage Professionals of Florida & beyond.

State

Founded in 1960, FAMP advocates for the 57,000 licensed loan originators in the State of Florida, driving impactful legislative and regulatory solutions to expand housing accessibility, protect consumers, and ensure a strong, stable housing market.

Hometown Heros

We’re committed to doubling funding for the Hometown Heros program, increasing the budget from $100M to $200M, so more dedicated Floridians can achieve the dream of owning a home.

Condo Reform

Raise awareness on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's unfair down payment requirements for Florida condominium owners and buyers, aligning them with the standards of the other 49 states.

Trigger Leads

Support legislation to amend FS494, making it a violation to contact mortgage applicants unsolicited through Trigger Leads.

Affordable Housing

SB184 - Advocate for local governments to allow accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and prohibit increased parking requirements.

Property Taxes

HB357 & HB359 - Supporting legislation to help affordability by increasing the Homestead Exemption to $100,000 from assessed value.

Condo Safety

HB393 - In an effort to help condo owners and distressed projects, support updates to My Safe Florida Condo Pilot Program to expand eligibility and increase funding limits.
